I have been in technical writing field for a while, software engineer by proffession and I possess excellent computer skills utilizing multiple applications. Additionally my accuracy rates are extremely high and I have terrific time management and organization skills. I keep careful track of all deadlines and am able to motivate myself to complete all proofreading work on time. Some of the proofreading skills that i have are;
- Editing- making sure the document is free of errors before it’s published.
- Communicacation-Communication skills can helps to work with others to ensure that one understand each other and that you complete the work to the client’s satisfaction.
- Fast- checking- ability to verify the accuracy of information.
- Research- abilityto research topics or words that am not familiar with. This helps understand the context of the material am reading and help find any errors.
- Attention to detail- Attention to detail is another skill that i posses and it helps me to be a more effective proofreader. This is because one needs to ensure that they check every aspect of a document for errors. This can include checking for spelling, grammar and punctuation errors, but it can also mean checking for formatting errors, inconsistencies and other issues.
