In a country where in a women is worshipped as goddess, it comes as a great surprise when we get to know the rate of crimes against women are increasing day by day. Due to the patriarchal nature of the society, one half of the population of the country is subjected to the worst of crimes. They are harassed, tortured and ill-treated. Brides are burnt alive and constantly traumatized for not fulfilling the outrageous demands of dowry.
