What is the process to get data entry work?
First you have to be really good at this.
That means typing very fast and very accurately.
You have to have a drive and interest in actually accomplishing the task, *and* you have to find a place to do this that has not already replaced data entry technicians with expert systems and ai’s - so, small business and low-capitalization workplaces that can’t afford the systems that do this without paying people to do it.
Finally, you’ll have to find the jobs that are probably more represented as data entry quality assurance, rather than data entry itself - because the quality of the data entry is the hard part, not whether there is somebody doing data entry.
Frankly, this is a low paying technician class job that is only useful as a path to far more complex information and knowledge jobs. Once you know the technology of data entry, you’ll realize that people don’t do data entry in any meaningful way.
I am interested in a typing job. How can I do it?
First you have to find somebody who still employs typists.
This is rare because most jobs that used to be typists are now done by expert systems, which is what things were before AI systems to recognize things. Most of the rest of them are now done by AI systems.
That’s not to say there aren’t places that do this, in small businesses, but, its only *part* of the job. And probably isn’t the title of the job.
You can tell when typing is important because the requirements for the job include typing speed.
