A man stands in the middle of a hallway between two doors, each at opposite ends. The only way out of this hallway is through one of those doors.

One of the doors leads out faster than the other. In fact, it opens to freedom—instantaneous and seemingly effortless. The other door, however, leads the man through challenges—perhaps his worst fears—and slowly reveals the fruitful outcome of reaching the same destination.

Which option does the man’s mind choose? The door to instant success offers all he desires and appears deceptively easy.

Is that the right decision? Doesn’t it seem too good to be true?

Here’s the reality:

Both doors lead to the same destination, but the paths are completely distinct—polar opposites.

The first door seems like the easy way out. It decorates itself with illusions, convincing the eyes with visions of desire. But it is all fake, sugar-coated and seductive—preying on the natural human tendency toward greed. As they say, empty vessels make the most noise. This is the door of instant gratification. Whoever walks through it finds no true escape. It's a staircase that appears flat or even upward at first, but in truth, it descends. And by the time one realizes this, it may be too late to turn back.

The second door leads through a series of actionable trials. The man must grind, endure, and grow to reach his reward. The path is clean and truthful, with consequences and progress clearly marked along the way. The mind knows where it's going—growing all the while—owning the success it earns. Unlike the illusionary descent of the other door, this staircase ascends. It sheds the weight of negativity and lifts the man into a world of clarity and strength.

A choice must be made.

1. Most irrational minds choose the louder door—the one that shines too bright, deafening and blinding the decision-maker. A distraction meant to conceal what the righteous path quietly offers. They are lost now.

2. The truly brave do not let noise manipulate their choices. They reason. They calculate.

Why is this bravery?

When iron is placed near a magnet, it has no choice but to stick. The man is the iron, and instant gratification is the magnet. But unlike iron, man possesses will. Bravery is the use of that will for good. When the majority moves one way, to oppose them invites self-doubt. To know the righteous path and still walk it—that is courage.

Visually, the scenario may be painted like this:

The hallway represents a painful state of mind that longs for an upgrade. The door of instant gratification is the lure of bad habits. The righteous door is the path of good habits. This model reflects all choices in life. The positive escape always requires either physical or mental grinding. It may feel like self-harm, but in truth, it purifies with fire, shapes with chisels, sculpts with mallets, and polishes with abrasives.

All the decision-maker must do is accept the process with humility and believe in the potential outcome. The deeper the acceptance and belief, the faster the result.

Positivity without pain is like a rose without thorns—beautiful, but not real.

“Whispers of the Wild: A Journey into Nature’s Heart” There are moments in life when the world becomes too loud, and the only refuge we seek is the quiet rhythm of nature. It was during one such phase in my life — overwhelmed by deadlines, digital screens, and a life lived too fast — that I decided to take a break and spend time away from the chaos. I had no particular destination in mind, just a desire to go somewhere untouched, peaceful, and true. That decision led me to a remote forest reserve nestled in the hills, a place spoken of in whispers by nature lovers — a place where time moved slowly, and the earth breathed freely. The journey began with a long drive out of the city. As the concrete landscape melted into wide fields and open skies, I could feel the tension in my body begin to loosen. The air changed — cleaner, cooler, scented with wild grass and distant rains. 

My mind, usually clouded with worry and rushing thoughts, felt like it was being cleared, one breath at a time. I reached the edge of the forest by evening, just in time to witness the sun dipping below the horizon, setting the sky ablaze in hues of orange and purple. I had booked a small wooden cabin near a stream — simple, quiet, and just enough. The first night was quiet, yet filled with strange sounds I hadn’t heard in a long time. Crickets sang their sharp tunes, the trees creaked slightly in the breeze, and the stream gurgled steadily nearby. Without streetlights, the stars looked clearer and closer than I had ever seen them. So, a lady sent me a message yesterday

From what she said, I was shocked and confused ,

and truth is, she was confused too.

She asked me to read the story she wrote and rate it.

I started reading it, and honestly?

No suspense. No emotion. Just plain confusion.

It felt like I was reading something with no beginning, no middle, and no reason to keep going.

If I were to rate that story, it’d be a solid 3 out of 10…

But no, I couldn’t do that.

You know why?

Because some people don’t need ratings , they need real feedback.

And rating it might just make her give up on writing completely.

So I told her the truth, but with care.

Think of your main character as the soul of your story.

Let them be human, flawed, raw, real.

Make us see what they see, feel what they feel.

2. Let your story carry DRAMA.

I don’t mean unnecessary wahala, I mean conflict.

Let the story show a struggle. That’s what makes us want to keep reading.

3. Create a vibe with your setting.

When a story happens, it needs to flavor the vibe.

Let your audience feel the environment.

You don’t need to make it long , just use simple, common language that makes it real.

4. Always, always put emotion.

Real stories touch the heart, not just the head.

Whether you want your readers to feel happy, broken, angry, or even hopeful ,let them feel it.

I won’t lie, sometimes I write stories and I’m somehow scared of what happens next

like seriously 😑 I’m the one writing it 😂. That’s how deep it gets.

5. Build suspense.

If your audience can already guess the ending from the beginning,

trust me, they’ll get bored.

Like, what’s the point of continuing?

Give them something to lean into.

Make them curious.

Let them imagine the next scene even before it shows up.

Don’t confuse your audience. Start clear and Stay clear.

Sometimes, add action — it builds tension and keeps your reader hooked.

Don’t forget the lesson. There should always be something your reader takes away.

Something they can think about long after they’re done reading.

Start with a powerful hook, that first line should grab their attention.

And finally, use your own voice. Don’t copy anyone.
